Wrapping up our Club in Focus Robina Soccer Club, we acknowledge the efforts of the Administrator of the Week, Janine Leighton! Find out more about Janine below!
Name: Janine Leighton
Years Involved: 2 years
Roles Held: Secretary, Referee Coordinator and Clubhouse Manager
What made you start being involved in the committee? Having two boys I seemed to be at the club frequently and a family involved in sporting club committees. I wanted to challenge myself by taking up something different in my life. The friendliness of the club members and their encouragement to take the step made it much easier!
What is your personal goal for the club? I want to ensure that the club is happy and a family club that offers its members a safe, healthy venue whilst participating in sport.
Favourite Club Achievement (in your time)? The growth and success of our women’s teams and the wonderful atmosphere at the club all the time. Now, the gradual building of a competitive men’s team which gives the kids something to aspire to.
Favourite Holiday Destination? Any family destination that offers relaxation and fun!
Favourite Food? Anything that is cooked on the Robina Soccer Club menu! The best food on the GC!
Favourite Movie? Any movie at the cinema is always a girls night out!
Advice for anyone wanting to join the committee? DO IT! The commitment involved is a tool that helps with personal satisfaction and confidence. You are working with likeminded people who have the club at heart. You are also involved with your kids passion and it sets a great example of community involvement for your children!
Great work Janine, keep it up!
