With the improvement of lighting outside, Runaway Bay Soccer Club have not stopped there in regards to their facilities.
The club has made some significant improvements on the clubhouse and member space, allowing them to make it more accessible and friendly for their patrons.
The club has added a designated kids area full of bean bags, Netflix and TV’s.
“Our members are loving the new changes, especially now that the temperature has dropped. They have really enjoyed the kids space,” said Suzanne Geraghty, club secretary.
With World Cup fever in full swing, spirited members Lee and Darren Russell installed a projector in the clubhouse to allow members to watch as many games as possible in style.
As most people would be familiar with already, the club has continued the theme of flags on the ceiling of the club. The club plan now to add some history to their home.
“We are in the process now of creating a photo wall of past and present teams for everyone to be able to view. We are proud of our history and we want everyone to feel a part of that,” said Geraghty.
The club’s main purpose behind these improvements has been to make it a home away from home, as they believe without their members there is no club.
“We want to make this space as welcoming and inviting as possible so people actually enjoy being a part of it. It will always be a long term project of change and improvement from a club standpoint,” said Geraghty.
