The Gold Coast has produced a number of high quality female players, some which have gone on and represented Australia at a national level.
It all starts somewhere for these girls, and for Nerang Soccer Club it could come from their all conquering U13 Girls team.
Having won the double last season, the team is back again for another pursuit of silverware in 2019.
Charlotte Tout, one of their players, says that at the end of the day it is all about having fun and enjoying the game.
“I am enjoying this season and at the end of the day we enjoy having fun at training and on the weekends,” said Tout.
“We all love to win but as long as we are having fun that is all that matters.”
Being a strong right sided defender, Charlotte has set her sights on improving her individual game as the year goes on.
“I want to improve my tackling and defending specifically to help the team.”
“Michael is a great coach he does a lot of great drills with us. I am always learning more about the game,” said Tout.
When asked about the thought of winning it again this year, there was no hesitation about what the goal is.
“I think we can win it again this year. We haven’t gone all serious just yet but we’re building towards that.”
“As long as Michael doesn’t make us run to much at training I am sure we will be fine,” joked Tout.
Tout doesn’t see herself pushing to play at a higher level just yet, but has not ruled out the possibility in the future.
“Right now I am just enjoying playing with my friends and having a good time.”
“I don’t have any aspirations to play higher just yet but you never know! Things can change,” said Tout.
