PIMPAMA CITY FOOTBALL CLUB FORMED
Inaugural season in 2021 with clubhouse on the way
Pimpama City Football Club will be kicking off the 2021 Football Gold Coast season, with the club being formally accepted and welcomed into the football fraternity. With a brand new clubhouse set for completion in mid-2021, the Pimpama local area will finally have a club of their own with over eight full size playing fields, spacious carparking and a new vision in place as they look to establish a foothold in the ever growing market.
The club was officially accepted into Football Gold Coast competitions just over two weeks ago, with the approval of a board of directors and finalisation of the name, colours and club related particulars all passed.
Football Gold Coast General Manager Damien Bresic said, “The introduction of Pimpama City Football Club will provide the third-fastest growing region in the country their own club to call home. The opportunities are endless in the region and we feel that this could be the beginning of something special.”
With the management committee in place, inaugural President and Chairman Aner Penava said, “We are extremely excited and thankful to have the opportunity to open Pimpama City FC to the area. We have worked tirelessly to ensure that the project meets all the expectations and will endeavour to provide for the local community’s needs.”
With the local Gold Coast City Council funding a multi-million dollar clubhouse as well as a number of other projects in the area, Division 1 Councillor Mark Hammel said, “It is so great to see the Gainsborough Parklands sports clubhouse, which is still in the early stages of being built, already showing signs of getting some great use by local sporting teams in our community. I’m extremely excited to welcome Pimpama City FC to our far northern Gold Coast area, and I’m sure they will thrive for many seasons to come in what is a rapidly growing community with a real love for sport.”
