Continuing on with Palm Beach, we acknowledge the efforts from the Volunteer of the Week, Robyn Mee! Read more about Robyn below!
Years Volunteering At Palm Beach:
Junior Secretary, Junior Register, Women’s Secretary /Register, Canteen Converter. Blue Card register. Ground Official , help with the Seniors and B.B.Q., Board of Directors. I am also proud of been award a Life Membership.at Palm Beach there is no better achievement than that.
What made you start volunteering:
The family was playing soccer in Orange where I was volunteering so when we moved to Palm Beach in 1987 we joined and was asked if I could help in the canteen so it was only natural to say yes and the rest is history and look forward to continuing even though my family has stopped playing.
Favourite Holiday Destination:
Haven’t been away for a while but Kings Beach in the Sunshine Coast is one of the places I find relaxing and if I had a chance I would love to take another cruise to the Fiji Islands where you don’t have to cook as it’s all done for you.
You might laugh but I always look for Sausage and Mash with onion gravy , good old Shepherds Pie and love a nice steak Med to Rare.
I like movies with true stories and I really, really like a old movie called Summer Holiday with Cliff Richards. I haven’t been to the movies in along time.
Goals for 2019:
To keep volunteering and watch the club move on with it’s renovations and seeing the young ones enjoying playing their game they love to play.
Advice for anyone wanting to volunteer:
Come and give it ago you don’t have to be like me and stay so long, just a few hours or helping at your child’s games. There is always some thing that need’s to be done and its not hard and you will be surprise at the wonderful people you meet and new friendships you make not only at Palm Beach but from other clubs. I am very grateful for all the many friendships I have made and would like to say a big thank you to you all as I know you will read this. There is none thing better on Saturday Mornings seeing the smiles on those players faces whether they win or lose, that’s why I say come and give it ago it will brighten up your day.
Congratulations Robyn and keep up the great work!
